Today's "Review The Fabulous" post is about the Clarins 3-Dot Liner (limited collector's edition), which is part of the Clarins Autumn Look 2012 that launches in August. 

When I first heard about it I was so curious and excited. Finally an eye liner you don't need a steady hand or lots of experience for. It sounds to good to be true, right? That's what I thought first, but the 3-Dot Liner is more supposed to create a fuller looking lash line. Confused, yet? Yes, I was, too. So, luckily I got the chance to try the liner before it launches in August to write a little preview review for you and tell you if I think it is worth waiting for.

I wanted to show you the make-up products I used for the look "Stripes And Patchwork".

Eyes: First of all I applied a layer of the Bobbi Brown "Long-Wear Cream Shadow" in Sandy Gold. Then I drew a line close to the lashes with the Bobbi Brown "Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner" in Violet Ink using a Bobbi Brown "Ultra Fine Eye Liner" brush.

That's the outfit I wore for lunch at the beach on our second day in St Tropez. I combined a Melissa Odabash maxi dress (bought at the last net-a-porter winter sale) with my Balenciaga Giant City bag in Vert Poker and Bryan Blake flat sandals. As for my jewellery I decided for white and yellow Chan Luu wrap bracelets and one from Marjana von Berlepsch and a Chan Luu feather bracelet. To finish my accessories I picked two Kenneth Jay Lane rings.

For this look I wore a silk scarf my mum had turned into a tunic ages ago. I thought it would look so chic with a Louis Vuitton silk scarf worn as a headband, a Missoni bikini and big Gucci sunglasses.

I just wanted to show you the outfit I wore yesterday evening when going out for dinner:

I opted for the sequined Zara blazer I got in Portugal (also in this post), a Blaumax t-shirt, Sonia by Sonia Rykiel pants, a studded Valentino bag and Jimmy Choo gladiator inspired sandals (got them 50% off at the Jimmy Choo sale in Munich). I actually bought the pants at least two years ago but never felt comfortable wearing them. But yesterday I just decided that the time has come to wear them.

For this outfit I opted for a yellow top, a sequined blazer and jeans short – bought at Zara recently (I know, a lot of Zara and jeans shorts lately ;-) ). As for the location I thought the shades of my look would pop even more in contrast with the red door.

You probably all know the beauty brand Benefit and its amazing products with its charming and funny names like Chachatint, Big Beautiful Eyes (they had me with this fantastic eye palette years ago), Finding Mr. Bright, CORALista Ultra Plus and so on. And the products are as fantastic as the names are special. I could talk about how much I like the brand Benefit for hours and days, but today I wanted to show you the Beauty Kit "Confessions Of A Concealaholic" I have with me on vacation.

Make-up Of "Hot Pants And Foxes"

For my make-up of the outfit post "Hot Pants And Foxes" I used the following products:

Eye Shadow: First of all (and as always) I used an Eye Shadow Base (the one from MAC as in this post). I then applied a layer of Estée Lauder "Pure Color" Eyeshadow in Twilight Rose (I think it is not available anymore but for this look you could use it in the colour Nude Fresco, too).

Hot Pants And Foxes

I bought this outfit in Portugal at Zara as it is a little cheaper there than it is in Germany. The shorts were actually on sale. I think they are so cool with their paint drops and distressed parts. And the blouse is really cute with all the foxes on it. Don't you think?

DVF And Missoni

For our walk at the beach I chose to wear a Diane von Furstenberg silk tunic and underneath the Missoni triangle bikini from today's "Review The Fabulous" post.

Review The Fabulous – The Missoni Triangle Bikini

 The vacations are planned, the trips to lakes and swimming pools inevitable. There's just one thing missing: The perfect bikini.

Today's "Review The Fabulous" post is about one of my favourite beachwear items – The Missoni Victoria Crochet-Knit Triangle Bikini.

  The Fabric

The multicoloured and for Missoni known zigzag pattern of this bikini is made of 88% viscose, 8% rayon and 4% polyester. To get the best out of the Missoni beachwear (at least the one of this fabric) you are advised not to wear it in a swimming pool (because of the chlorine), the sea (because of salt water) or when sunbathing (because the colour may fade). Well, it is a bikini after all, isn't it?! So I, of course, did swim with it in the pool (not that often) and I exposed it to sunlight and they still look the same. Well, I wouldn't recommend wearing them all the time under these circumstances as every bikini's colour (no matter what fabric) will fade and won't look that pretty anymore. I do rinse mine under water after every swim and I let it dry flat.

Make-up Of "Feathers And Jeans"

For the "Feathers And Jeans" outfit post I used the following beauty products:

Eyes: First of all I applied the MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study (borrowed it from my sister) on the upper eye lid. When applying it it feels like a cream shadow, because of its texture. But once applied it's more like an eye shadow and leaves (in this shade) a sparkly and rich coloured eye lid. The Paint Pot is available in matte and pearl (like this one). This stunning product doesn't need an eye shadow base as it will stay in place by itself. It does combine the best of an cream shadow and an eye shadow.

As for the green accents in the outer corner of the eye I used Bobbi Brown's Sparkle Eye Shadow in Evergreen of the "Bare to Bold Eye Palette"– This one's my sister's, too. As you can see she really loves the Champagne Quartz Metallic Eye Shadow. I am afraid though she won't let me keep these amazing products. The palette was a limited edition, but I think you can still get the Eye Shadow in Cement and the Metallic Eye Shadow in Champagne Quartz. Instead of the Sparkle Eye Shadow in Evergreen you could use the Metallic Eye Shadow in Forest.

To finish my eye make-up I used Kiehl's Marvelous Mineral Mascara in Black (also in this and this post).

Lips: You probably know already how much I am a fan of Clinique Chubby Sticks. For this look I opted for one in the colour Mega Melon.

Cheeks: Again I used the Make Up Store Microshadow in Nox as blush because of its golden and pink glow (picture of it in this post).

Feathers And Jeans

Hello darlings!

For today's outfit I opted for an Almost Famous chiffon blouse I got a few months ago (actually it is on sale here), a simple Juicy Couture jeans skirt and my new Giuseppe Zanotti suede sandals I recently got on sale. Jeans skirts and shorts are basics I couldn't live without during summer. In a classic colour like blue, white or black they are so easy to combine. No matter what colour or pattern your top is it will look great with them! And nearly all kind of shoes look fantastic with jeans skirts and shorts. High heels, flats, wedges, flip flops etc. – you name it.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stain

As I mentioned in the previous post I wanted to tell you more about the make-up I used for the "Tiger Safari" outfit. I used the Kiehl's Marvelous Mineral Mascara in Black that gives your lashes a natural but still voluminous look (also in this post) and no eyeshadow, as I wanted the focus to be on the lips. And that's what this post is really about: The YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stains. They are real "Love The Fabulous"-material!

This glossy stain definitley lasts longer on the lips than a gloss or lipstick and the colour looks richer and more dramatic. The texture is creamy, but you feel that it has something in common with a lip stain as it is much thicker and less smudgy. I prefer applying more layers as it creates a more intense look and really makes the colour pop. I always wait for the first layer to settle and then add more until I reach the intensity I want. The gloss smells floral but subtle.

I love dark lip colours, but I am always afraid they will end up somewhere in my face other than on my lips. With this one I finally dare to wear red and dark berry shades. It still leaves stains on glasses or wherever you put your mouth on. But that's fine. I also wanted to try a lighter shade and opted for the pink one. I think it is hard to get this seductive shade of pink with a normal gloss. Well, you might reach that point, but your lips will look like the ones from Elise Elliot in 'First Wives Club' after she had one too many lip jobs. But don't get me wrong, I love a soft, glossy touch on my lips. But this time I wanted an intensive pink.

I got this fabulous product in shades No. 01 (Violet Édition), No. 09 (Rouge Laqué) and No. 15 (Rose Vinyl). You can see me wearing all three colours in the following images.

Tiger Safari

Good morning you beauty queens (and kings)!

Recently I bought this silk blouse and jeans short at Zara in Portugal (It's much cheaper here than it is in Germany!). I thought this outfit would be perfect for the location as both made me think of safaris in Africa. Well, it would be a fashionable but not very appropriate attire for a real safari. I was in a wild mood though, so I decided to add a fierce red lipstick. I'll give you more details about the make-up later in the afternoon...

As for the accessories I chose ones with golden details: My new Valentino bag (recently purchased at Theresa), Chan Luu bracelets, an Ettika bracelet and a tiger cuff (No, those aren't diamonds!). And I opted for flat Apepazza sandals. With their big gems they look great to casual and glamourous outfits. I love them, but unfortunately the stiches around the stones break all the time. I had them repaired three times already, but it only lasted a few days. Now I gave up. The gemstones don't fall of and that's the important thing.

When you read this you might think I am a little nuts (or you totally understand): This morning I got up at 6:30 a.m. (and I am on holiday!) as I assumed that net-a-porter is having further reductions (and they did). So I checked all the items I wanted for an additional sale discount. Unfortunately, the things I wanted weren't reduced enough for my liking. So I didn't buy anything. Like I told you I have to fight the urge to buy things I don't really like just because they are like 50-70% off. Today I did.

Do you also get the feeling that the winter sale was much better with much lower prices?

Stay Cool, Jump Into The Pool

Sweeties, I told you that this dress hasn't had its showdown yet. Well, here it comes.

As pool and beach parties might get out of control – due to the heat or one too many cocktails – being thrown into the water or jumping in on purpose should be reckoned with. You still want to look hotter than hot no matter what! Thus you should think about a few things when choosing your perfect pool party outfit: 

1. The fabric shouldn't get destroyed by chlorine or salt water (Beware "Dry Clean Only" dresses!). 

2. It shouldn't turn transparent (Unless you want to have a wet t-shirt-contest-feeling). 

3. It should dry fast. You don't want to be freezing your pants off!

4. You probably don't want to look like a "wet dog" when getting out of the water as some clothes lose their shape in an unfortunate way and are likely to just hang and cling unflattering to your body. 

With this dress I can say: Check, check, check and check. Approved as a pool or beach party outfit that is allowed to get wet. Actually it SHOULD get wet as it looks so cool!

All you have to sort out now is your waterproof make-up ;-)

Pool Party

Hello darlings!! How was your weekend so far?

With all the holidays and hot days coming up, there is the chance of an increasing amount of pool or beach party invitations. So I thought about an outfit that can be worn in a casual or elegant glamourous way. I opted for this dress with its beautiful print. Even though it is made of polyester it almost looks like silk in my opinion. I wore it with Giuseppe Zanotti suede sandals but when you need it to be more laid back it will look just as great with flats (like the ones in this post). And the make up I chose for this outfit is the same as in that post.
