How's The Knitting Doing?

Hello lovelies!!

I nearly finished the cashmere scarf I began knitting for myself. I only needed a bit more, but than decided that it is too thin. So I started all over again and as I have many other projects on my mind right now I won't have time to knit a lot. So please be patient ;) And who needs a winter scarf in summer anyways, right?

Bobbi Brown Art Stick

Hey lovelies!!

Bobbi Brown has launched a new lip product you should hear more about. It's called Art Stick and is a lipstick and lip liner in one. It contains shea butter for a smooth and light feeling and I guess for a nourishing effect. And I was lucky to get one in Cassis. Love the colour!! Don't you?

The pencil shape makes it super easy to apply and you are in control of the effect. You can just lightly tap on some for a hint of colour or you can use it properly for an intenser look. The Art Stick lasts on the lips quite long and is the perfect purse companion. I love using just a little bit during the day with a hint of lip gloss on top and creating a more dramatic (as for the red colour) effect in the evening. Perfect if you go out for drinks after a long day at work.

I first thought it's a little inconvenient to carry around the enormous sharpener (is included) as you probably have to reshape it a lot, but the Art Stick lasts pretty long without doing so. So I nearly misjudged, which in the end, luckily, I didn't. And the other good thing is that you always see how much product is left and not like with the Clinique Chubby Sticks (which I still love) that there is less product inside than you thought in the first place.

The Bobbi Brown Art Sticks are definitely Love The Fabulous material.

Retails in Germany for around 27,50 € and is available in many lovely shades.

Thank you Bobbi Brown Germany for sending me this lovely Art Stick!!

Hamsa Cashmere Sweater

Hey darlings!!

Today I want to introduce you to a German cashmere label I absolutely love and that for a long time now. I am talking about Rosa von Schmaus. I always get swooped away by their soft quality, fashionable and comfortable fits and funny as well as inspiring prints. Do I have to say more?

I also wore Rosa von Schmaus pieces in the following posts:
  • Blue cardigan with leather fringes here
  • Pink hat here and here
  • Orange sweater here
  • Blue sweater here (Watch out! It's a post from the very beginning ;))
  • Black and white wrap cardigan here
  • Black cardigan here (Also a very old post)
But let's keep our focus on the sweater in today's post. Isn't this one amazing? And not only is the Hamsa symbol (also known as Hand of Fatima) very beautiful and fashionable but it also is meant to protect you against the evil eye. What do you wish more in a cashmere sweater, right?

A big, big thank you to Le Bureau and Rosa von Schmaus for giving me this amazing sweater!!

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots

Hey sweeties!!

Have you heard about the Pro Longwear Paint Pots from MAC already? No??!! Then listen up!

I have to say it up front – I absolutely love them!! Okay, and now I tell you why. You don't need an eye shadow base to keep them in place and even without they won't magically disappear from your eye lid and somehow reappear in the crease of your eye. You can apply them with your fingertips for a rougher look or with a cream shadow brush for a neater one. In my experience using a brush creates an intenser look and the result is even more long lasting. I always apply one coat on each eye and then add another one and maybe another one. Depends on the look you aim for.

You can also mix and match the colours like I did in this post. I first applied two coats of "Vintage Selection" and then highlighted the outer corner of my eye lids with "Antique Diamond".

They retail in Germany around 23,50 € and really last a long time.

PS: Feel free to mix and match them with different kinds of eye shadows and liners. Go crazy ;)

In this, this and this post I used Paint Pots in other shades.

A big thank you to MAC Cosmetics Germany for sending me those amazing Paint Pots!!

Bobbi Brown CC Cream SPF 35

Hey beauties!!

I am such a huge fan of BB and CC Creams. I love the light texture and all the benefits they bring along. I use them instead of a foundation, but normally they are supposed to be used underneath one. The Bobbi Brown CC Cream SPF 35 is meant to be used as a primer to diffuse the appearance of imperfections and to provide illuminated skin, while helping to prevent premature aging and dark spots formation. But I prefer a lighter feeling on my skin so I skip the foundation and apply transparent powder above the CC Cream right away. But that's totally up to you and your preferences.

"CC Cream color corrects, illuminates and protects in one easy step." Bobbi Brown

I think there are no more words necessary.

Retails for 37 € in Germany.

Available in Pale Nude (Alabaster to Cool Beige skin tones), Warm Nude (Warm Beige to Warm Honey skin tones) and Golden Nude (Golden to Walnut skin tones).

A big thank you to Bobbi Brown Germany for sending me the CC Cream. I love it!!

Pink Elephant

Hey sunshines!!

Just a quick outfit post (again). I bought this trousers in a small road shop for like 7 €. Isn't this one cute? I bought a few others and I know, that I probably won't wear them on the streets at home, but on other vacations and as cozy home stay pants. But we'll see :)

This outfit is also another example of what to wear in Sri Lanka. Talked about it in this post.

Batik And Stripes

Hey sweeties!!

In yesterday's post I talked about what to wear in Sri Lanka. But of course you can wear a bikini with or without a tunic on the beach. Just be responsible and check if there are other females doing the same, too. But as long as you stay in areas with tourists you shouldn't have a problem.

For this outfit I opted for a peachy kaftan, a striped bikini and a navy hat (all from Seafolly).

What To Wear In Sri Lanka

Hey cuties!!

In the travel guides about Sri Lanka there was always a part saying you have to be very careful going there as a women as you might get sexual harassed by locals. It is a different culture and the western ladies have the reputation to be very willing in the sexual department. Reading all this I got a little panicky and put a lot of effort in what clothes to bring with me. I decided for light trousers, t-shirts and tunics to cover me up in a proper yet fashionable way.

On our whole trip I never experienced any uncomfortable situation with local men. I wore proper clothes, didn't sunbath topless, didn't go to the beach during nighttime, avoided big groups of men when there were not many other people around and stayed close to my boyfriend. I can't talk for all parts of the south-west of Sri Lanka but where we were I always felt safe. We also saw many young women travelling with their girlfriends in the tourists areas. I think you don't have a problem if you behave responsible and not naive.

I bought this harem jumpsuit from Asos right before our trip and I really love it!! It is so comfy and you can create many lovely looks by wearing different tops with it. It is a good example of what to wear in Sri Lanka and it is also a great way of protecting yourself against mosquitoes as your legs are covered up.

Examples in this and this post.

Have you been to Sri Lanka and what were your experiences?! I would love to hear about it!! Share it on Facebook!!

Arrived In Paradise

Hey sunshines!!

It's the first post from the trip to Sri Lanka I went on with my sweetheart. It took us ages to get to Polhena (which is in the south-west). First we flew to Dubai, then Colombo. When we arrived we got a taxi to the Colombo train station (1 hour to get there) and then took the train to Polhena (another 4 1/2 hours). But it was worth it. I will tell you more about our trip in the next posts. So stay tuned.

For this outfit I opted for a yellow bikini and a see-through kaftan (both Seafolly).

Beet Root Goat Cheese Salad

Hey darlings!!

Just a quick inspiration for a healthy lunch salad.

Cut beet root (I used pre-cooked one from the supermarket), fresh fennel and avocado into small pieces and mix it with crema de balsamico, balsamic vinegar, olive oil and salt. Toast a slice of bread or don't if you do not fancy carbs and add grilled goat cheese on top of the salad. Or you can skip the grilling and simply cut it into pieces. This way it is perfect to put into a container to take it to work or to a picnic.

If you want to upgrade the salad simply add a few drops of white truffle oil.

I would love to see a picture if you are making the salad. Just tag me (@love_the_fabulous) on Instagram in your picture.

Snack Time: Avocado and Blue Cheese

Hey darlings!!

Sometimes I feel like snacking. Okay, most of the times. But there's a healthy way to do so.

I love avocados as they are so healthy and taste really good. Cut one in half (use the one without the avocado pit to avoid that the half you're not using right aways doesn't get dark) and add some lemon or lime juice, olive oil and a hint of salt. Serve it with Finn Crisp or any other crisp bread and some blue cheese. Spread the avocado and cheese on the bread or eat everything separately. It's delicious!!
